The Collegiate Academy offers dual enrollment, an accelerated mechanism through which an eligible high school student may enroll on a full-time basis in FGCU courses. Collegiate Academy students earn credit toward both their high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree. Coursework may be taught by FGCU faculty or qualified Gateway High School teachers, and may be offered at the high school or on the FGCU campus during the spring and fall semesters.

Upon successful completion of the program, with proper application, students will be accepted into the University and be afforded an opportunity to apply for an FGCU scholarship. Free tuition and books are included. Students who complete requirements of the Associate of Arts degree at the time of high school graduation through the Collegiate Academy, and who subsequently enroll at FGCU following high school graduation, will be awarded an Associate of Arts degree by the university

Eligibility Requirements

When applying for the Collegiate Academy, prior to the beginning of the 11th grade year, students must have:

1. Successfully completed four semesters of high school-level Collegiate Academy course requirements in 9th and 10th grade
2. Maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.7 weighted or 3.0 unweighted by the end of 10th grade
3. Not yet completed sufficient units to qualify for high school graduation and must apply all credits earned to meeting high school graduation requirements and FGCU criteria
4. Received eligibility approval from the high school principal, or designee
5. Achieved minimum scores* on the ACT or SAT by May 1 of their 10th grade year
